had was watching TV for the whole morning with his dog lying on the carpet beside the door. At about eleven o’clock, because his mom was too busy preparing lunch for his family, she asked Tom to walk the dog for her. Tom turned off the TV unwillingly. However, his dog seemed to be happy and excited just when it saw Mom holding its leash. So, Tom went out with his dog with an unhappy face(→unhappily). On the way, Tom saw a new ice-cream stand giving customers free ice cream, so he went to try some. It was so delicious that Tom suddenly soon felt rejoiced for he had listened to his mom and took his dog out for a walk.

●rejoice (v.) feel or show you are happy. 並非形容詞
●最後加上had listened to ，是與他吃冰淇淋覺得開心的時間點相比，好險他當時聽了媽媽的話
